Auditions
Audition May 28-31, 2026
EYSO is for everyone. For instrumentalists from 4th grade to college, playing for 2 years or 12, EYSO aims to find a place for each student to grow in one of our five orchestras, specialty ensembles, and the one-of-a-kind Chamber Music Institute.
When you join EYSO, you join a community of like-minded musicians ready to take on complex ideas, take creative risks, and to become leaders here and throughout your life.
Under the leadership of Artistic Director Matthew Sheppard, the students of EYSO explore a comprehensive curriculum each season—one which aims not only to help you to develop artistically and technically, but to grow into well-rounded and thoughtful communicators and leaders in your sections, ensembles, schools, and communities.
Auditions for the 2026-27 Season will be held May 28-31 at Elgin Community College.
Audition applications will open and requirements will be posted on February 1.
