DePaul CMD National Concerto Competition for Young Performers

Deadline December 8
Students in piano, violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon and saxophone in 12th grade or younger are invited to audition for the annual DePaul National Concerto Competition for Young Performers. All participants are provided with invaluable written performance evaluations from our world-renowned judges.
Winners perform a movement of a concerto with the Oistrakh Symphony of Chicago, conducted by Mina Zikri. As founder and music director of the Oistrakh Symphony, Maestro Mina Zikri uses his considerable talents to forge relationships with artists and musical organizations throughout the world, including his role as assistant conductor for Daniel Barenboim’s West-Eastern Divan Orchestra and guest conductor for the Cairo Symphony in Egypt.

National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute 2024

NSO SMI is a four-week, pre-professional intensive for dedicated high school and college student instrumentalists interested in pursuing a career as a 21st-century professional musician. This tuition-free program provides performance opportunities, high-caliber technical training, practical tools, and rich experiences aimed at empowering students as leaders and thinkers in their chosen fields. In Webster University’s Department of Music, students collaborate in noteworthy performance ensembles, integrate the study of music theory, history and literature into practice and pursue excellence on a primary instrument in applied lessons, all under the direction of outstanding artists and teachers. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), we have 16 undergraduate and graduate programs including Music Education, Instrumental and Vocal Performance, Composition, Songwriting and a first-in-the-country Bachelor of Music in Music Direction for Musical Theatre. Our curriculum promotes a collaborative environment while fostering a lifelong habit of excellence in performance, creativity, scholarship and teaching. National Youth Orchestra

Applications Now Open: National Youth Ensembles
Each summer, Carnegie Hall’s national youth ensembles bring together the brightest young American instrumentalists for intensive training and performances on some of the world’s greatest stages. The National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA), NYO2, and NYO Jazz are free and led by all-star faculties of professional musicians. As national ensembles, these programs include a broad range of musicians from across the country that reflect the exceptional talent and diversity of the United States. Programs begin in July 2025.
