The EYSO Flute Choir is comprised of flute players from Philharmonia and Sinfonia, as well as interested students not enrolled in another EYSO orchestra. Flute Choir students explore arrangements and original compositions for flute choir, providing an opportunity each week for players of varying skill levels and experience to collaborate and learn from one another.
In addition to exploring flute choir repertoire, a focus is placed on ensemble and individual playing skills: intonation, blending, balancing parts, and using proper flute technique. Students are also introduced to the extended flute family, including piccolo, alto flute, and bass flute.
Flute Choir is led by Scott Metlicka.
Performs during the 2:00pm concerts in November, March, and May.
