Charles Russell Roberts

Director

Charles Roberts is a trumpet player with the Gaudete Brass Quintet, and works to create performance opportunities for the group. Charles received his Bachelor of Music degrees from the University of Florida in trumpet performance and music theory, and his Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music. Charles has performed with numerous orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lake Forest Symphony, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, and many others throughout the midwest, and is currently on the music staff at Old St. Michaels Church in Old Town. In addition to his performing career, Charles has served on faculty at Norther Illinois University, and has coached chamber music, and taught private lessons with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra, Midwest Young Artists Conservatory, Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra, The Peopleā€™s Music School, and Hyde Park Youth Symphony.

In addition to his performing career, Charles has a background in fundraising and the philanthropic services and council industry, and now works as an associate at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, working on digital advice retirement solutions.
