Community Band Outreach Program Launched by Elgin’s Abbott Middle School

 Abbott Middle School is starting a new program to engage community members in a timeless tradition. The Community Band Outreach Program (CBOP) will have an introductory meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9 in the band room of Abbott Middle School, 949 Van Street in Elgin.

       The CBOP program is to engage and encourage musicians of all ages to join a community band and to convey the importance of music in our society. Every instrumentalist from middle school to retired is welcome to join the band and play together as one community ensemble.
