2:00pm concert: Primo Orchestra makes its 2013 debut joining the Prelude Orchestra. Sinfonia performs music by Berlioz, Bach, Strauss, and Wagner, followed by a preview performance by Philharmonia.
4:30pm concert: Brass Choir performs the powerful "Tree of Life" by Daniel Brewbaker and "Dead Man Blues" by Jelly Roll Morton (in a new arrangement by Jason Flaks). Philharmonia welcomes acclaimed guest conductor Kei Harada, featuring Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet, concerto winner Ellen Maloney playing the Bruch Violin Concerto, and the finale to Shostakovich Symphony No. 5.
7:30 pm concert: featuring Youth Symphony in their season finale, Prokofiev's thrilling Fifth Symphony, a thrilling testament to man's freedom and nobility, written during World War II. This concert also showcases the Maud Powell String Quartet, Hanson Quartet, Sterling Brass Quintet, and the Youth Symphony Woodwind Quintet.
