EYSO JOIN EYSO FOR THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS

SUNDAY, MAY 8 | 2pm, 4:30pm, 7pm

Tickets are now on sale for Through the Looking Glass, the final concert in the 2021-2022 season, FLIPPED, that examines how a shift in perspective can make a world of difference in music. Repertoire for the 7pm concert includes Sensemayá by Mexican composer Silvestre Revueltas, based on the poem of the same title by the Cuban poet Nicolás Guillén and The Pleasure Dome of Kubla Khan, a hypnotic tone poem by American composer Charles Tomlinson Griffes and inspired by the famous poem Kubla Khan.

LET THE ADVENTURES BEGIN! Join EYSO for our biggest fundraising event of the year! Proceeds from the evening will support EYSO's unparalleled life-changing journey of inquiry, creativity, and growth for our current students and the next generations to come.

Aside from delicious food and great company, the evening will feature live performances from the Maud Powell String Quartet and our percussion students, an educational demo led by EYSO Artistic Director Matthew Sheppard and a fabulous silent auction. A representative from the Illinois Council of Orchestras will also be on hand to award EYSO with the prestigious Programming of the Year honor and Conductor of the Year to our very own Matthew Sheppard.

IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO APPLY TO AUDITION

Do you know someone interested in experiencing the EYSO difference?  For instrumentalists from 4th grade to college, playing for 2 years or 12, EYSO aims to find a place for each student to grow in one of our five orchestras.

SCHOOL DAY TOURS

Over the past month, EYSO honor chamber ensembles visited 15 area schools reaching 757 students. Led by Artistic Director Matthew Sheppard, the goal of school day tours is to demonstrate EYSO's comprehensive learning environment and engaging musical experience. Thank you to all participating schools for opening your doors to the EYSO difference.
