Listen to Gary McNeil, WRMN, discussing the May 10th concert with Matthew Sheppard.
EYSO has moved the scheduled Folklórico concerts to a virtual format. This will allow us to bring our 44th season to a close safely via a digital performance at 7 pm, Sunday May 10, featuring all of our EYSO ensembles. Members of our Chamber Music Institute will give pre-concert performances beginning at 6:45 pm.
Since we suspended in-person rehearsals and shifted to remote learning in early March, the learning experience at EYSO has continuing in the face of COVID-19, in ways that have allowed us to teach, learn, and make music together as our community does what is necessary to keep each other safe.
Our conductors and students—with unwavering support from our parents, staff, and Board of Directors—have worked hard to make this happen in the ways most effective for them: video rehearsals, playing check-ins, email discussions, social media, and other forms of remote learning.
While the nature of the performance has changed, our staff, coaches and students have worked enthusiastically and passionately toward this reimagined virtual performance, and we encourage you to join us.
