Audition for EYSO

Serving students grade four through college, EYSO comprises nearly 400 students from more than 70 communities in the Chicago area. Each ensemble offers its members unparalleled opportunities to perform, learn, and collaborate in a fair and welcoming environment. EYSO members have gone on to successful careers in music performance and education, as well as math and science, liberal arts, and all fields in the arts.

EYSO’s 2017-18 season is Elemental: What Nature Tells Us About the Orchestra.  Using critical inquiry and EYSO’s famous “expert noticing,” we’ll study great symphonic music as a lens to understand concepts like organicism, musical motifs as DNA, and the orchestra as a kind of ecosystem. Featuring music of Bernstein, Dvorak, Rachmaninoff, Bach, and more.

Auditions for the 2017-18 season take place June 1-4 (and May 12 for percussionists) at the Elgin Community College Arts Center. The online audition application is available now. Please carefully review the information at and sign up today!
