EYSO currently owns some musical instruments, but requires a few more.
Instruments are very expensive and students do not always have access to some instruments needed to play certain compositions. That's why EYSO has a small inventory of instruments, including Contra Bassoon, Snare Drum, and an assortment of emergency bows. We currently have an EYSO Instrument fund to collect donation to build the instrument inventory. For more information or to make a DONATION towards an instrument.
Please contact the Fund Development Committee or call the EYSO office 847-841-7700.

A letter from the EYSO President:
Dear Potential Donor:
I am writing to tell you about a wonderful thing happening in our community...
Imagine a stage crowded with young musicians between the ages of 10 and 21, filling the concert hall with the brilliant sounds of a Symphony Orchestra. Now expand the picture to approximately 300 musicians, some of whom have limited financial means, participating in a weekly organization that enables them to learn responsibility, discipline, and teamwork. Realize that with the help of professional conductors, teachers, parents, volunteers, and donors, this is happening in Elgin, Illinois.
The Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra (EYSO), consisting of four orchestras and a brass choir, and over a twenty chamber ensembles. For over 35 years the EYSO has fostered the artistic and personal development of talented youth, thereby enriching the surrounding communities. Come see and HEAR for yourself by joining an audience of over 1,000 at one of our concerts held at Elgin Community College Visual and Performing Arts Center in the Blizzard Theatre.
Today, the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra fulfills its mission, "To create a community of young musicians, enriching their lives and the lives of their families, schools, communities and beyond, through the study and performance of excellent music." As we continue our season of weekly rehearsals and five concerts, I would like to extend an invitation to support this incredible program and to keep the EYSO moving forward. Your gift will help provide excellent musical opportunities for many young people.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Stu Ainsworth, EYSO Board President
